Arrive at Paro International Airport and experience the most exciting landing with a breathtaking view of the mountains and the lush green fields. Your tour guides will receive
you upon our arrival to Bhutan with Tashi Khadar (white scarf offering to welcome guest in an auspicious way).

Your first sightseeing would be the visit to Dechenphodrang Monastery in Thimphu city. Dechenphodrang Monastery is a monastic school that houses more than 200 young monks. Later in the evening, you may visit the Tashichho Dzong, a beautiful fortress built in the 17th century. It also holds the Throne Room for the king of Bhutan.

Visit the memorial Chorten (stupa) followed by a visit to the magnificent Buddha Dordenma statue. You may also visit Changangkha Lhakhang,  a 12th-century Bhutanese temple perched like a fortress on a ridge above central Thimphu. It hums with pilgrim activity throughout the year.

You may visit the Folk Heritage Museum, the oldest historical place in Bhutan. It is dedicated to connecting people to the Bhutanese rural past through exhibits, demonstrations, educational programs, and documentation of rural life. The Museum is more than 150 years old. You may check out the craft market for souvenirs.

Overnight in Thimphu

You will then begin your journey to Gangtey via Dochula Pass marked by 108 stupas. We will stop to enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the Eastern Himalayan ranges. After reaching Gangtey, visit the Gangtey monastery and hike down to the valley from Gangtey monastery. Gangtey nature trail allows you to catch hold of the beauty of Phobjikha valley. You may spend some time taking pictures in the beautiful valley of Phobjikha, the winter home for the rare black-necked crane. In Gangtey you can experience a farmhouse stay and also try a hot stone bath.

Visit the crane center. The center showcases interesting facts about the blacked-necked cranes in the form of videos, brochures, and diagrammatic presentations.

There is also a superb viewing room with a spotting scope from which one can observe the cranes from the center. Drive to Punakha after this visit. While in Punakha visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong and also the longest suspension bridge. You can hen explore Punakha valley by hiking down from the suspension bridge.

Drive to Paro. While in Paro if you are not tired you may visit 7th-century Kyichu Lhakhang, a temple of historical significance and one of the most sacred shrines in Bhutan. In the evening you can stroll around Paro town and buy souvenirs.

The five-day Paro Tsechu Festival will be held at Rinpung dzong in Paro during the spring season. It is one of the most spectacular festivals in Bhutan and a major tourist attraction from around the world. On the first day, all maskdances are held inside the courtyard of Rinpung dzong. In subsequent days, the courtyard outside the dzong hosts the festival. You can also witness the prominent display of giant paintings (Thanka).

No visit to Bhutan is complete without visiting Tigers Nest Monastery. The Tiger’s Nest or the Taktsang is one of the most popular spiritual heritage sites, perched precariously on the rock face of a sheer cliff 900m above the valley. Although it may be a little difficult trek you don’t need to be an experienced mountaineer to complete the trek to Bhutan’s most famous landmark. A little preparation and a fair dose of perseverance is all that’s required. With a total distance of 6.4Km (3 to 5Hr trek) depending on your pace, the trek offers mesmerizing views of the valley.
